Louie Ackelsberg, 128 YinDThis week's #MusicMonday selection is a playlist of Caravan’s album Kon Gap Kwai (คนกับควาย, Man/Person and Buffalo).Caravan is one of the most influential groups in Thailand’s history, creating a genre of folk-rock music known as phleng phuea chiwit (เพลงเพื่อชีวิต, "songs for life"). The band formed at Ramkamhaeng University in the early 1970’s amidst a growing student movement. In 1976, the group was forced into exile; however, the group remained extremely popular and returned to Thailand after being granted amnesty in 1979.
