Chaa Thai Podcast, Season 2 Ep. 25 Dave

Chaa Thai is a podcast spilling the tea on Peace Corps volunteer life in Thailand! Each episode, hosts Alyssa Strong and Lilly Hromadka interview a current Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and do a deep dive on their experience at their host site. The tea is that there are as many examples of what service is like for a volunteer in Thailand as there are volunteers — join us as we get a taste!

Our tea table’s final stop along the tour of Group 135 is a lovely beachside town in Nakhon Si Thammarat. We climb the stairs to the apartment of TESS volunteer Dave, where he’s set up with western comforts not often found gracing the homes of Peace Corps Volunteers. Our tea blend this week features proximity to supermarkets, college town activity, and foreign-friendly living, and the challenge is staying within budget in this slightly luxurious slice of Thailand.

Dave spills all about his previous teaching experience abroad and how it compares with his service. We pour cup after cup, listening to stories about students, the dynamics of his school, and helping a nearby volunteer. Our second kettle finds us discussing a favorite pastime and plans moving forward. We’re so happy to welcome you one more time to the table of Group 135s service, so pick your favorite seat and settle in for this week’s episode of piping hot Chaa Thai!
